Andrex- Sales Promotions

Here we have an example of sales promotions by Andrex. As sponsors of the Red Nosed Day, they have used that event to "add on" to the usual number of rolls in the pack, also the added incentive of sending money to recieve the puppy, of which a percentage goes to charity...It's this last bit that confuses me, is this sales promotion or is this PR???

Nokia- N95

This is an ad for the multi- functional Nokia N95. The advert is simply beautiful and almost perfect in a very elegant way. There is an accompanying online campaign which encourages consumers to upload films of their own particular "special thing in my pocket" to win a handset. So... what special thing do YOU have in your pocket? I have a hole....

NIKE- Body by Nike

This is an ingenious ad by Nike extolling the virtues of excercise over cosmetic surgery. THE message Suda al Jamon translates to "Sweat the Fat". The ad shows some gruesome visuals of what to expect in the "cutting room". This is a bit different from some of Nike's other ads which are decidedly serious about fitness, but the message once again is crystal clear.

Nissan

I LOVE this ad, even though i'm not really an automobile freak and know NOTHING about performance, i know that people who want to spend money on a good car would be after certain features. This ad not only shows you the individual characteristics of these cars by likening them to the wildlife they imitate, BUT the ad focuses on more than one brand within the Nissan portfolio.
The message here is PERFORMANCE. Look at the way the spider climbs the rock surface, or the alligator/ crocodile/ amphibian moves through water and land with ease... It's quit simply about the performance quality of these automobiles!!!

Chocolate covered ALTOIDS

These ads for Altoids- the ridiculously strong mints- an American mint, are so silly!!! There are all these strange people with banana hands and whale like appendages, yet all these deformities/ abnormalities are overlooked because of a new Altoid product- CHOCOLATE DIPPED ALTOIDS. The thought of that alone is quite grosss, but you never know, curiousity has led many people down many roads...Which is exactly what these ads are telling you. Curious?? Go ahead and try them. I believe this will be a successful campaign at least for product trial.

Nostalgia!!!! Old School Nigerian Adverts from the 80's

For ANYONE who grew up in Nigeria in the eighties, these ads MUST take you back some. There are some ads here that if you aren't Nigerian, you simply cannot "get it". For example the two men in the very first set of ads extoling the virtues of 'Elephant' were famous Nigerian comedians (from two different tribes). Listen to their English (deliberate i must add). Hilarious!! The second of the JOY girl commercials i remember especially as i always always wanted to be HER!! Plus she looked a lot like an aunt of mine...
Nigerians respond to information, so the more information given, the better the chances your product has. Enjoy.
