Vera Wang for hp
I want to get married someday just like a billion other females in the planet and on my big day, just like a billion others on the planet, i want to be wearing a wedding dress by designer Vera Wang!!! She is THE name when it comes to designing celebrity wedding dresses.
In an ad for the computer manufacturing company Hewlett Packard, she tells the story of how important her computer is to her by providing all she needs for life, both business and personal. HOW much better could this ad be? With this ad, i would guess that the target is the urbane/ fashion conscious woman who at least knows who Vera is!?. It shows her as a person with a personal life, a social life and a business life. Sound like someone you know?? Of course you do! She's ME in the next two years!
Specsavers- 2 for 1 Sales Promotion
Here we have SpecSavers, a leading brand in the UK optical market. One of the best sales promotions tactics to boost sales is 2 for 1 or Buy One Get One Free. In this case, the products 'suffering' from the Sales Promotion are DESIGNER glasses. I lay emphasis on the designer because they are supposed to have exclusivity as part of their image, but in a promotion of this nature, does this not cheapen their image? Or is it SpecSavers image that is damaged? Somehow i don't think so.
Thomas Pink
Forget about billboards, forget about television adverts, forget about the big red buses, this is focus marketing at is best. Thomas Pink is a famously exclusive shirtmaker, and they know at Thomas Pink that majority of their target would not be caught in a bus, NO! They will more often than not, get in a cab. What better way to catch attention??? A PINK CAB,Literally!!! I love it!
Live Earth 07/07/07- S. O. S
This is an advert promoting Live Earth, a musical event which will last for twenty four hours across seven continents. Such superstars as Madonna, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, James Blunt, Black Eyed Peas, etc will be performing on the seventh of July 2007. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and unify people across the globe, to fight the effects of global warming through the universal language of music.
Now, on to the ad, which looks at different genres of music and music from different cultures comes from the lobbying organisation The Movement for a Climate in Crisis to promote the event and the cause. The use of Morse code S.O.S (dot dot dot, dash dash dash, dot dot dot)and different musical interpretations leads to some funny occurences!

h&m like u have never seen
This is a very different kind of ad, as i do not think it was created for television. The ad was mostly screened at cinemas (the duration should indicate why this is). The theme is ROMEO and Juliet...Interesting you might add when the "Queen of soul"- musical artiste Mary J Blige and also Tamyra Gray also feature in the ad. There are so many dimensions to this ad, and then you find out it's for a new?? collection of jeans... Would this inspire me to go out and get a pair...Not likely, but if they fit nicely.....then, they win!

Andrex- Sales Promotions
Here we have an example of sales promotions by Andrex. As sponsors of the Red Nosed Day, they have used that event to "add on" to the usual number of rolls in the pack, also the added incentive of sending money to recieve the puppy, of which a percentage goes to charity...It's this last bit that confuses me, is this sales promotion or is this PR???
